We don't hire coders. We build AI architects.
Everyone says software engineering is dying…. but it’s actually being rewritten in real time.
We have spent more than a decade preparing for this moment without knowing exactly when it would arrive. The Agile Monkeys (TAM) was built around independent thinking, difficult technical problems and engineers with real ownership. Today, that philosophy matters more than ever.
AI can generate code, explore solutions and accelerate execution. The ability to understand the whole problem, choose a direction and remain responsible for the result is becoming more valuable.
The engineer is becoming an AI architect.
At TAM, that does not mean everyone arrives with the same experience or carries the same responsibility on day one. It means that every engineer learns to see beyond the ticket: to understand the intent, design the system, orchestrate agents, make trade-offs and care about what reaches production.
Ownership grows with your judgment. Your judgment grows through real work, direct feedback and time alongside people who take the craft seriously.
You may already lead complex systems, or you may still be learning how they hold together. In both cases, you will be expected to think, ask, contribute and take on more responsibility as you grow.
AI expands what each of us can do. To give you an example, Javi, our CTO, is already using agents to stay meaningfully involved across 11 projects simultaneously, giving teams faster access to context and technical judgment without taking ownership away from them.
We are applying this new way of working to consequential systems for Fortune 500 companies and organizations such as Harvard and PayPal. We are also building our own open-source AI SDLC, sharing what we discover through The Lab and creating products such as AIFindr and nau!
Every TAM engineer is a Claude Certified Architect – Foundations, and we are a Select Services Partner in the Claude Partner Network. These are not badges we collect. They reflect how seriously we take learning—and how deeply we want to understand the technology we use.
Learning is part of the work here. The field is moving too quickly for it to happen somewhere else. We study together, experiment together and continuously change how we build.
We work remotely and protect the time needed to think. We write to preserve context. We use meetings to make decisions, challenge ideas and solve problems together—not to perform activity.
And we can take these risks from stable ground.
We are bootstrapped and independent. Through downturns, COVID and difficult markets, we have never laid anyone off for economic reasons. We believe ambitious companies can be built without treating people as disposable.
Moments like this are rare. They are uncertain, demanding and unusually alive.
We want to make the most of this one: doing ambitious work, learning as fast as the field moves, building things that matter—and having fun while we discover what engineering becomes next.
Come shape it with us.
